What does THE THEORY exam cost?

The costs for the theory test consist of the costs of the driving school (95€) and the TÜV fee (22,49€).


    FAQ on the theory exam

    HOW MANY EXAM QUESTIONS ARE TO BE ANSWERED?

    For an initial licence, a total of 30 examination questions must be answered. In the case of a driving licence extension, there are 20 questions.

    HOW MANY DEMERIT POINTS ARE YOU ALLOWED TO MAKE?

    First time pass:
    You will fail the theory test if you receive more than 10 demerit points.
    Important to know: Since the five-error questions are of particular importance for road safety, the test is also considered failed with two incorrectly answered five-error questions.

    Extension:
    If you extend an existing driving licence class, you may only have a maximum of six demerit points.

    WHEN CAN YOU RETAKE A FAILED
    THEORY EXAM?

    If you have not passed your theoretical exam, you can arrange a new exam directly.
    Please note, however, the following legal deadlines:

    Less than 14 demerit points: 7 days
    More than 14 demerit points: 14 days

    WHEN CAN YOU TAKE THE THEORY EXAM AT THE EARLIEST?

    You can take the theory test at the earliest three months before reaching the respective minimum age.
